The Great (Ohio) Adventure part 4 or Forget Pudding the Proof is in the Picture

and booooy was i wrong about that. i have seen n.e.r.d. preform before... and they are good like farealsies. so i when they came to nashville last year, it was like in april and "everybody nose" had jus leaked. and at that show they revealed "spaz". but the thing that was cool was they came out to "anti-matter" like it wasn't a new cut. well this was no exception. they used the talking part from the intro from "seeing sound" but then cut into a joint i aint never heard b4. so pharrell comes out, followed by the rest of the group. o and i had totally forgot that they had added a chick to the group. i remembering thinking when i heard about this addition...."are they serious?!?!?!? pharrell fareally bout to go all black eye peas on me???? NNOOOOO!!!!!!! (cue the fur in the summer like will.i.am for Pharrell ( refer to "everything i am" from kanye's "late registration" if you are confused about that last part( and on a side side note ima steal a page from Brenton, arthor of t.g.i.f.t., and alienate my readers (all 7 of u (risky i know)) if u don't understand that part do the research or kick rocks)))but i was pleasantly surprised when she came out. she was cute 4 1, plus it she was preforming like she was just one of the guys. im steal another page from someone else (Seinfeld) and slick yadda yadda yadda the music portion of the story. check the vids. they had different people some out and rock out on stage. one dude got on stage and rapped the entire first verse off "soldier" which was leaked like 5 days b4. i was like woooooow. i constantly mess up the words to songs. if i was rapping an artist's song with that artist they would b lookin at me like "do u know any of the song". but pharrell was impressed. he likes it when fans rock out with him and know his words. when he was in nashville he called my home boy Reggie on stage cuz he knew the words from most of the songs at the show and he saw him. he got a pic with shay (i was hating). anyway i am taking in the show. rocking out wit my um...well you know. being 6'5, 350 plus pounds you stick out, i'm jus sayin. so the set is over and me and Kev are sitting down looking at the countdown for the final act and talking about the n.e.r.d. act. and i feel a tap on my shoulder. i turn around like wut did i do or break. she (the tapper) says something like" blah blah blah you were really rocking blah blah pharrell wants to meet you. you got a few minutes we gotta hurry." i am like "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!?!?!?" she is like" pharrell wants to meet you we gotta go right now if you wanna meet him" i turn to Kev like " come on guy". so she was a lovely young lady saying all manner of lovely things to me like "man you were really hype" and " i found you to be very hype". the truth is the next 5 minutes are kinda hazy to me. but i tell you i felt like i was a celeb. walking past the people backstage it was like i was on stage during the performance and every1 on stage was watching me. met the drummer he was like" o yea o yea i saw u man. u were getting it" i felt like i was popping my collar like " o yea u saw me,cuz i'm da man." we talked to who i thought was shay, even though in the back of my mind i knew it wasn't (it was actually Fam-Lay). so he next couple minutes have blurred the most. i recall being really happy to be back there. i remember talking to Pharrell and asking if we could take a pic. i remember being whitty. yea i was cracking a couple jokie jokes. Pharrell was mad cool though. but he was like a mad humble. it really caught me off guard. i have seen different interviews and videos of him and i always got a hey-i-may-be-a-lil-douche vibe. but i gotta say this meeting crushed all that.i could tell he was tired. he was moving non-stop his entire set. so i wasn't trying to keep him from being able to rest. i wanted to chop it up wit chad a lil bit but he was in the cut. so i slick saluted him. he duced back. so we are heading out and pharrell goes "i'll see ya later". i go" nah, probably not but i'll definitely see u though" they were cracking up off that( i was in the zone, what can i say). we came out and chopped it up wit Fam for a couple minutes (he was maaaad cool 2). then we headed back to our seats. sitting there basking in the afterglow (no nasties) i am thinking this night is amazing and we aint even seent Jay yet.

The Great (Ohio) Adventure part 3 or Real Recognize Real

this is just a word of advice whenever going somewhere like saaaaaaaay a concert and u are out of town or even in town (but most definitely out of town) and you DON'T know where you are going google maps it or something. do not i repeat DO NOT call the venue and take directions form the lil girl who answered cuz that little girl will get you lost and cause you to miss the opening act (J.Cole) that may or may be one of the main reasons for even seeing the show to begin with. so at the risk of being redundant we got lost on the way to the Value City Arena, and missed J. Cole's set all together. but in all fairness he only did 2 songs. i mean it was a little upsetting while we are making our pit stop to "shake hands with the president" ( or urinating if you must) we are hearing" flyer than the rest of them"...but that is life you win some to loose some and i tell you that was the only L i took that night. as we make our seats listening to the music by WALE ((ATTENTION DEFICIT out 11/10) oh and happy birthday Dicky Poo lol what a lucky day to be born on...anyway) a couple of realizations came 2 me. 1st our seats were really great. 2nd when you have floor seats close to the stage the ushers are nice. i am use to getting the treatment that says please go to your seat and DIE....but not that night. i felt like v.i.p. (which i am case yaint heard). the where smiling at me like a tip was involved in ushering. they showed me to my seat like they were Vanna White and my seat was a consonant (a letter that is NOT a,e,i,o,u, and sometimes y). as we settled into our seats i remember the last time i was this close to wale.
~cue flashback~

April 19, 2009

its a saturady night. Vandy is having their Rites of Spring Music Festival . just the previous night i missed K'naan , Santigold , Q-Tip , and T.I. (yes folks nashville gets it in). so it would be safe to say that i wouldn't miss the acts preforming this night. the night The Flaming Lips and N.E.R.D. are preforming i would b out there. but just as fate would have it WALE was preforming at Barfly. now i love my city but i also know my city. yo gotti, lil "bad azz" boosie, webbie are just a couple of people who could pack out a club. artist "hipsters" and "sneakerheads" mess wit.....um...not so much. this is not to say the part of the club we were in was not packed and jumping (cuz it was) , the thing is the show was intimate. i was about 5-10 feet from him the whole performance....this picture clearly shows how close i was......

FAST FORWARD TO PRESENT DAY......

we arrive to our seats. they are great. 6 rows from the stage right in the middle. need less to say i'm geeked like band camp, pocket protectors, and wedgies. wale and ucb are doing their thizzle. on his last song he decides to do it in the crowd. so he is hoping off the stage people are making their way to him to get a dap or what not. he is making his way to my row shortly after i arrive to the end of it. he is bringing his arm up to dap me i perceive ,what i interpret as,a pause. he precedes to finish the dap. and i am left with a crazy thought. i said to myself "George, he looked at you like he knew u". so u know i gotta hate on ...um me ...and i say " nigga, you tripping dat dude don't know you". so i return to my chair just happy for the dap. just as i have put this "crazy" thought out of my head BJ says "dude wale was looking at you mad crazy. it was like dude i know u but where". i was like "yessssss i knew i wasn't crazy". and as we sit waiting for the next set (n.e.r.d.) i have a feeling like this night just can't get any better....

The Great (Ohio) Adventure part 2 or Hillbilly Heaven....

we convened on the morning of October the 28th at Kevin's apartment and embarked on our journey. the trip was pretty nice. not nearly as long as i thought it would be....THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!!.......wait not to me...thats wut she said to some other guy....yea....~ahem~ ummm where was....o yea. one thing that became very apparent to us was there is a looooooot of roadkill between nashville and columbus. it started like north of Mammoth Cave. which was suprising cuz with all the Jethros and Billy Bobs in that area u would think whole deer on the side of the road would not last long....but Cincinnati has a nice view when you are entering it from the south side. but there were also nice views in Columbus...porn in real life......NSFW....lol.....

anyway.....
