So ...yes I know Jesus and He is cool. So let me get churhcy for a sec. This week in the Sabbath School Lesson it has been dealing with meekness. So it has been focusing on how important it is. And i tell you i do not think it is easy in the least. So the thing i really wanna focus on is how much things change when it is put in simple text. So Mathew 5:38-40 kjv says:

³⁸Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

³⁹But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

⁴⁰And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

so it is cool and clear right...but i read it in a translation called The Message and it read as follows:

Here's another old saying that deserves a second look: 'Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.' Is that going to get us anywhere? Here's what I propose: 'Don't hit back at all.' If someone strikes you, stand there and take it. If someone drags you into court and sues for the shirt off your back, giftwrap your best coat and make a present of it. And if someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life. No more tit-for-tat stuff. Live generously.

I found the translation to be scary. The fact is the whole week i was reading on meekness and i was like i want it...i want that...i can be humble. But i would have this thought that kept on coming across my mind which was this.... i work in thet community more now. I spend a lot of time going to peoples houses alllll over the city. Er part of the city i bees there. So lets say someone holds me up, or i come out to find someone breaking in my car, or a pack of wild hooligans are sitting on my car just waiting to start trouble...WHAT DO I DO??? do i get buck wit em?....do i brandish a weapon if it is on my person? So my thought really was what does God expect of us.... and i got the answer ( even though it was MOS DEF not not the one i wanted). God said take the lick, given what they want plus some. WHAAAAAT ?!?!? i will say i am human...and i don't know how i feel about that. Not that its wrong to protect yourself at some point i am just confused at what point is that. But the truth is this God got yo back. In cases like that going with God's plan is gonna work out eventually. Psalm 147:2-6 The Message says:

God's the one who rebuilds Jerusalem,
who regathers Israel's scattered exiles.
He heals the heartbroken
and bandages their wounds.
He counts the stars
and assigns each a name.
Our Lord is great, with limitless strength;
we'll never comprehend what he knows and does.
God puts the fallen on their feet again
and pushes the wicked into the ditch.

God says let Me get em. I can get em waaaaay better than you can. Plus he got some thing for those who are meek....THE WORLD!!!!!

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought.

Real talk that's tight. Like Bible got real philosophical right then. When you are content with what you got, you have everything in the world you would ever want. Meekness can get you peace. Any way i just thought those verses and translations were hot. The Bible really is tight, once you appreciate it.

But he presented a Grammy last night so he wins...on second thought the Grammy's are scripted and arbitrary AANNNNNNNDDDD shallow(even though i would spaz if i was nominated for something ( but fareal Taylor Swift jus gonna clean up like that ....AND let's not forget the The B.E.P. were up for album of the year WTF!!!!?!?!?)))).



Um anyway people love this song. although i don't i see why people like it, cuz its wut half the world is thinking when they see someone saggings but NEVER have the coconuts (trying to keep it PG) to say to that person. anyway i am a sagger...not intentionally..it jus so happens that i have a body shape that encourages this fashion. matter of fact my sag is more of a plumber/electrician/ cable guy/mechanic steeze. stick wit me i will show you more crack than Baltimore (shout out to The Wire). Anyway since i am not totally smitten with the Larry Platt version I'm glad that ....(cue superman trumpets)...BUN B has come to the rescue. Maybe if Brett Farve had done this version they would be playing Sunday...OUCH!

Fresh off the presses does not mean it is the newest thing....its just the newest thing to me ( the motif of the blog being me you see). Anyway it seems that more and more people (artist) are doing trailers for just about anything (Lupe for Lasers and Cudi for a Kid Named Cudi Mixtape). Now this guy Michael Sterling Eaton has one for his upcoming mixtapes. I don't know who he is but I'm bout to do my research cuz *said like Kanye* "got one of the great rappers of ALL TIME!! Artist of the Week- STS

STS is short for Sugar Tongue Slim. You may have noticed that my song of the days thus far have not been rap songs. I like more than rap. But I like rap, especially good rap. Add this cat falls into the realm of good rap. 2006 and part of 2009 I stayed on rap mixtapes. Good or bad i was downloading it for the most part. My criteria for the if it was an artist I didn't know about if I liked their cover I would download it. The was the first thing that I ever saw of STS was the cover above. As a matter of fact if it wasn't for this cover I never would have listened to it. It isn't the greatest cover I've ever seen, but it stuck (like R. Kelly in a day care) in a sea of covers that basically looked uninspired. Anther thing that made me go ahead was his name. With the name Sugar Tongue Slim I assumed he was a pimp, so at least it would be funny. Needless to say I gave it a listen. I was hooked on the 1st verse on the first track of his Demand More Mixtape . His roots are from the South (Atlanta to be exact). He is cool with the roots. I saw him perform recently with The Roots when I was in D.C.. HE RIPPED IT!!!!! But what do I know I'm a fan. I'll let you decide. *WARNING- HE IS A CUSSER! SO WHEN YOU BANG THIS WIT YOUR MOMZ U HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!*
I will be posting different cuts of his this week, but the 1st posting is very important. I was once told if you want to learn about new artist get there newest stuff then work back. So I that light I will post the most recent thing of his , which just so happens to have come out last week. It has Cassidy and RL (from Next) on it. Intro

When I started this blog, I really had no idea what to do the blog about. So I have doing random things with a lean towards music. My cousin B does a blog about things that annoy him, which is makes since because he loves talking bout random crap that pisses him off (check out T.hank G.od I.m F.rom T.ennessee). My man Terrell loves spots so you can assume his blog The P.O.L.R. Express is mainly about sports. So I asked myself what do I love? I came up with me. I looooove me (you know the way Mario loves toys (or Gucci Mane or which ever one of them that said “I loooooove Fisher-Price”(lol :-) )). So I guess this blog is about me and the stuff that I like. So random crap that I want to put up is what I will put up. If you don’t like it …..so what? That’s life. F.y.i. I like music so most post will be musically related. But I like other things too liiiiiike fooood, clothes, women, movies, taking pics (even if I am not that great at it), shopping ( as long as it doesn’t involve a lot of walking…but driving is okay), etcetera etcetera (you get the picture). also i think imitation is the best form of flattery. I say that to say I think my blogging taste will and is evolving. Expect change and if I see something another blogger is doing that I like ima bite *kanye shrug*. So a bunch of random things, but mostly music I what you can expect from this blog. also Oh and I use a lot of hyperlinks to either illustrate what or who I am talking about . so if you come across one go ahead and click go head doow it doow it click it doow it….. well anyway I’m done with the intro ( well something like an intro). And before I finish let me post this lil thing on what I am feeling this second and that is this big ole bowl of Chocolate Cheerios (they are what’s up (they kinda taste like Cocoa Krispies)), and this chick from Prison Break Sofia (Daney Garcia) from season 3. She is What’s Up!!! (Gretchen aint bad either. The homicidal crazy makes her a lil hot) lol.

after the "The Great (Ohio) Adventure" was over and the rental car was returned, i made a horrific discovery.....i had left my iPod in the car. i did everything i could to recover it but i ended up without my beloved companion (i did however develop a distrust for rental car cleaners..in turn grouping them with wutever racial, stereotypical, or cultural group u may or may not trust. u know wut i mean... like the phrase i've been "gyped" or "jewed" simply came outta no where. and uncle ruckus was onto something on the first episode of the first season of boondocks....o and wut did Rodney King teach us?....what i am tying to say is i put the guys who cleaned the rental car i used in the same boat as shifty characters)*DISCLAIMER- the views of this author my or my not be based on fact.simply because he writes it, it does not mean he believes it. SONG OF THE DAY- Freak Out

john legend....the name is cool for one.....when i 1st heard him i was lying on my bed in my dorm room chillaxing ( if the spelling is wrong and u attempt to correct it in a comment u r a L7 ....it is a made up word) and i was listening to him off of the "kenye west jeanius level musik" hosted by akademiks and i am like "who is this dude?" i was like he has the coolest/most unique voice i have ever heard( the next month i discovered anthony hamilton and ended up spending spending like 4 hours listening only to the 3 song i had found on on limewire (or was i using aires then?) anyway he gave john legend the competition for coolest voice i had heard up til then). so i was early on john legend on a lot of peoples standards but TOTALLY missed the john stephens years. but i feel i am redeeming myself today with this track. this is a a rare john stephens track that i am sure is new to most people. my compulsion to be ahead of the curve as much as possible musically has been satisfied (somewhat) with this one. so i submit for your approval freak out.....

so monday i say the jay-z video "on to the next one" and i'll just say i was bothered. the video is creepy and freaky and i am not one easily creeped of freaked....but that video is for another post. the thing is however this song is connected to jay. it was sampled from a single from "the blueprint 3". my homie clay put me onto it( if u get a blog clay i will put up ur link to it beside your name) and i just wanted to give him props for the discovery. anyway the song is called "in the space" by janko nilovic and dave sucky (pause).....enjoy
